Albert Stewart Price, a coal miner, born in Aberdare second son of a Glamorgan couple, Jonah and Harriet Price of Oakdale, served in the 1st (Rifle) Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment (Territorial Force) and arrived in France with the battalion in February 1915. Private A S Price (2693) died of wounds 5 April 1915, aged 18. He is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery, France.  He is commemorated also on the Battalion War Memorial in St Woolos Cathedral, Newport.

Albert died of wounds at No8 Casualty Clearing Station Bailleu. His mother Harriet received pay of £4 11s and 6d and a gratuity of £3.
